Information Technology
The College of Business offers a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting, Information Technology and Operations Management. The doctoral program prepares students for university teaching and research. It consists of a set of tool courses (such as statistics and econometrics), a set of courses tailored to the student's concentration and a dissertation. Students accepted in the program are expected to enroll on a full-time basis (at least 9 credits in fall and spring and 6 credits in the summer). Students entering the doctoral program with a master's in Business Administration typically complete the requirements for the Ph.D. in Business Administration (excluding the dissertation) in 30 to 36 months and the dissertation in 12 to 18 months.
Admission to the program is restricted to students who show exceptionally high promise for mastering the conceptual and analytic tools required for doctoral study in business.
Information Technology Concentration
The information Technology and Operations Management program is a multidisciplinary field of study that focuses on the design, development, implementation, and use of information technology to solve organizational problems. The program stresses both theory and research.
